The 24-hour Yosemite Expedition: A Guide for Busy Adventurers

I hadn't been to Yosemite National Park in 21 years. I didn't remember much but rain and driving as a little kid. This time, however, I walked away with one word that I sincerely mean: magnificent.

With just one day in paradise, there's so much mileage you can get out of it! Whether you have a few days or just one, here are some tips and tricks for squeezing out every bit of beauty that Yosemite has to offer.

Catch Sunrise at Tunnel View

There's no better way to start your day off than catching the sunrise at Tunnel View. This viewpoint provides some of the most iconic views in Yosemite, with El Capitan, Half Dome, and Bridalveil Falls all visible from here.

You can also get a good view of the Merced River as it winds its way through the valley. It's an experience you won't forget!

Soak in the Views at Washburn Point, then Glacier Point

I know, I know. Glacier Point is considered the viewing point of Yosemite. But, honestly, I think Washburn was way better.

The view of Half Dome, the Merced River, and the valley below is spectacular. Washburn Point offers you a great perspective to take in all that Yosemite has to offer in one place - it's like an aerial shot! Plus, you can stay even longer here because it's significantly less crowded than Glacier Point.

Take a dip in Mirror Lake

If you're looking for an activity in Yosemite that won't take too much of your time, Mirror Lake is the perfect spot. The lake is crystal clear and so peaceful! It's a great place to spend a few hours relaxing and soaking in the beauty of Yosemite without having to hike miles upon miles on foot. You can even swim in it if you're up for a refreshing dip!

Spend the Evening at El Capitan

El Capitan is one of Yosemite's most iconic landmarks, and there's no better way to spend your evening here than watching the sun set behind it.

As a big Free Solo fan, I couldn't get enough of finding new angles of this massive beast.

Climb Up the Boulders at Lower Yosemite Falls

I'm a sucker for big boulders. And Lower Yosemite Falls is full of them! It's the perfect spot to get a good workout in while taking in some misty views. Plus, you can climb up the waterfall itself and watch water cascade down from above.

Catch Sunset at Taft Point

If you have the energy, make sure to catch the sunset at Taft Point. The view of Yosemite Valley and its many landmarks will be illuminated in a beautiful orange hue as you watch the sun slowly disappear behind them.

You've likely seen this spot on Instagram as a popular elopement location.
