5 Reasons To Visit Vatican City
I share this because I came dangerously close to not visiting Vatican City when I was staying in Rome. I am forever grateful for my travel partner who insisted we visit.
1. There Is Nothing Else Like It
Let’s face it. Whatever your beliefs are, the history of Vatican City is incredible. With every twist and turn, you are exposed to thousands of years of human history.
2. It's Not Hard
Buy a timed ticket ahead of time, and you are golden. I was hesitant to go to the Vatican because of the lines and crowds. However, we bought our timed-entry ticket the evening before and bypassed hundreds of visitors. Buying ahead of time made the experience quick and painless to get inside.
3. It Brings People Together
Vatican visitors are perhaps the most diverse group of tourists I have ever seen. You have everything from Italian Nonnas to Sikhs. It is inspiring to be inside a place with so many folks of diverse walks of life, soaking in global history together.
4. Sistine Chapel
It’s not overrated. I could have kept my eyes glued to the ceiling all day if I wasn’t developing a crank in my neck.
5. You’ll Make Grandma Proud
Everyone's grandparents love to know you did something educational on your trip!
