A Review of the Best of Switzerland Tours: Zürich & Surrounding City Tour

If you're short on time in Zürich, a great way to get an overview of the city and the surrounding area is by booking a four-hour excursion with the Best of Switzerland Tour group.

You'll enjoy a city tour, a short ferry ride, and an opportunity to ride a cable car for great views of Zürich and the surrounding area.

While The Best of Switzerland Tours gifted me this excursion, all opinions are my own.

Zürich City Tour

You'll begin your excursion with a bus and walking tour of Zürich. The city tour lets you see the Old Town, a delightful view of Lake Zürich, and the church where the Swiss Reformation began (think John Calvin for all my CRC followers).

After getting a solid overview of what Zürich is all about, you'll make your way to the suburbs. On the drive, our guide even pointed out Tina Turner's mansion. Apparently, she became a Swiss citizen about 20 years ago!

Our guide was very informative and had answers to all of the questions guests challenged her with.

Lake Zürich Ferry Boat Ride

After passing Tina Turner's house, the bus will drive onto a ferry boat across Lake Zürich. The boat ride is only about ten minutes long, but it was a lot of fun. You can get out of the bus and walk around to take photos and take in the sights. While a short experience, I was tickled by it.

Cable Car Ride with Views of Zürich

After crossing the river, you'll have the opportunity to take a short five-minute cable car ride. The car felt very safe, so this is a solid option if you're afraid of heights!

At the top of the mountain, you take a 5-10 walk to a restaurant where you can order a coffee, try traditional Swiss food, or simply take in the views.

Unfortunately, the day we went was stormy and cloudy. But the summit still offered lovely views, and I imagine on a clear day, it is truly breathtaking.

Summary of Best of Switzerland Tours: Zürich & Surrounding City Tour

Overall, I enjoyed my experience on the Best of Switzerland Tours: Zürich & Surrounding City Tour.

It is a really strong option if you have limited time in Zürich, as I did. My only feedback would be to make it a little longer or cut down the group size. Due to the large group on our trip, we felt a bit rushed at times.

All and all, though, this is a lovely overview of an incredible city.
