Best Breakfast on Chicago’s North Side
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
Before you jump on the famous L and cruise your way around Chicago’s grid – you have to fuel up!
Trevor Noah drank here – so you know it’s good! (I swear – I was behind him in line).
If you’ve been following me at all – you know Heritage is my go-to spot for almost everything. Heritage is uniquely both a bike repair shop and coffee house. They have 7 locations throughout the city, but my personal favorite is their Lakeview Lincoln Ave. location.
They offer an extensive breakfast menu with plenty of farm-fresh, organic, and local options. As well as baked goods from fellow local biz. The Lincoln Ave location boasts an adorable outside patio complete with a vintage RV and umbrella-covered patio tables.
Whether you’re here to chill, work, or pick up breakfast to go – Heritage feels like home.
Est-ce que tu parles français?
You’ll feel transported to France at this chic and bright Lakeview cafe. Specializing in French-Fusion, you’ll find a classic French breakfast (eggs, a basket of bread), benedicts, quiche, and plenty of gorgeous espressos. Many vegan options are also available.
A northside favorite, Lost Larson recently opened a second location in the trendy Wicker Park. Lost Larson is an incredibly delicious bakery with cafe service. However, the place is tiny tiny tiny! So be prepared to wait and dine with a small group. Don’t let the size fool you – the taste is big.
Located in the Swedish village of Andersonville, M. Henry easily tops the charts of any great breakfast in Chicago. Its intimate European decor, creative and filling food, and general “brunchy” atmosphere are delightful.
When my friend returned from living abroad, we arranged a reunion with our pals and our old college professor because M. Henry is worth returning to America for.
