If you're looking for a breathtaking Greek island escape, you may be wondering whether to visit Santorini or Mykonos. Both islands are popular tourist destinations, easy to access by ferry, and offer unique experiences. So which one is right for you? Note: Santorini and Mykonos are both extremely, extremely touristy. If you’re looking for a more authentic Greek experience I would suggest islands like Naxos, Crete, or Milos.

Santorini
Santorini was created from the remains of a volcano that erupted thousands of years ago. Some say that the island used to be the scene of the mythical city of Atlantis.
The most popular beaches on the island are Perissa Beach, Kamari Beach, and Red Beach. Santorini also has a number of black sand beaches, which are unique to the island.

Mykonos
Some of the most popular things to do in Mykonos include exploring the island's many beaches, visiting the windmills in Chora, taking a sunset cruise, and dancing the night away at one of Mykonos' famous nightclubs.

Santorini is home to a number of historical and archaeological sites, including the ruins of Ancient Thera, Akrotiri archaeological site, and Oia Castle. In addition to its historical attractions, Santorini also offers stunning views of the caldera, beautiful sunsets, cruises, and delicious wine tastings.
I've taken a sunset cruise in Santorini via an Airbnb Experience, and it was one of my favorite activities I've done on all my trips to Greece.
Overall, Santorini offers more for families, couples, and friends as there are a diversity of activities. However, if you are looking for a straight-up party scene and pristine beaches, Mykonos may be your style.
