Review of Buonamico Wine Resort in Montecarlo, Italy

Vineyards at Buonamico Wine Resor

Buonamico Wine Resort has the potential to become one of the best boutique stays in all of Tuscany.

I spent 7 nights at this unique wellness and wine resort, and I have high hopes that it continues to grow into its sweet potential.

Buonamico Wine Resort – Hotel Rooms

The Buonamico Wine Resort is a hotel, restaurant, and working vineyard.

The hotel aspect of Buonamico is extremely intimate. There are less than 15 rooms onsite, and each of the rooms are extremely spacious.

There are a few options for rooms, and we chose the medium priced room that included a garden terrace. I highly recommend the garden terrace option. The room itself was incredibly spacious and modern (think touch-less everything!), but it was the outdoor space that really sold it.

Your garden room includes a private "back yard" that sprawls into the surrounding vineyards. I enjoyed dinner and wine almost every night at my outdoor table after taking an evening stroll through my backyard vineyard.

Plus, every morning a delightful continental breakfast is wheeled to your room for you to enjoy in bed or on your patio.

The individual suites are stylishly decorated, and very comfortable for a weekend getaway or week stay.

Pool at Buonamico Wine Resor

Buonamico Wine Resort – Pool

Most people who come to Buonamico have a car with them, and in retrospect I probably should have rented a car. But, since I was aiming for maximum rest, I spent literally seven days poolside and never left the hotel.

The pool is exceptionally clean, and the deck provides comfortable loungers and sun beds. You can even bring your wine down!

Due to the hotel being so intimate, all of the hotel guests start to recognize each other around the pool and restaurant. It was rather fun!

The pool overlooks the vineyards and offers a delightful view of the historical downtown of Montecarlo.

The pool is also connected to a luxurious spa. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restriction the spa was not open so I was unable to enjoy that. I am sure in a post-pandemic world the spa will be absolutely incredible to guests.

Buonamico Wine Resort – Restaurant

The on-site restaurant called "Ristorante Syrah" is a true fine-dining experience. I live in Chicago, so I'm somewhat familiar with the fine-dining scene, but trying to navigate it in Italian was a little nerve-racking.

That being said, the staff did their best to help me understand, and I was truly impressed with a few of the dishes.

For my second visit to the restaurant, I selected the 5-course meal (there is also a 7-course) where the chef hand-picks each of your plates.

I ended up eating some brand new things and having quite a life experience (P.S order the french fries as a side...you will not regret it).

I didn't make it over to the winery, but I had a few different house wines throughout the week and they were to die for.

Overall, my experience at Buonamico Wine Resort was extremely refreshing and enjoyable. There were a few little kinks, but the resort is still getting back on its feet from the pandemic.

I truly think that with some time and experience, that Buonamico Wine Resort is going to be a top-rated destination in Tuscany

Please note this was not a sponsored post, I simple felt inclined to share my experience as there is not a lot currently written about Buonamico Wine Resort
